Applications of Quantum Technology in the Energy Transition

In partnership with TNO Vector, the Centre for Quantum and Society brought together energy experts and quantum specialists to explore potential quantum applications for the energy transition. This collaborative effort resulted in an interactive visualization, designed by Flatland.

LEVERAGING QUANTUM FOR GOOD: A GLOBAL COLLABORATIVE MOVEMENT

Quantum technology development holds the potential to become a transformative force in the 21st century. As we move towards the 2025 International Year of Quantum, the Centre for Quantum and Society, Quantum Delta NL and our partners are pioneering Quantum for Good – a global collaborative movement dedicated to creating positive societal, environmental, and economic impact through quantum technology. Together, we strive to develop quantum applications, projects, and resources that will drive real-world change and contribute to a sustainable future for all.

The Quantum for Good initiative, launched in 2024, emphasizes the importance of collective action in shaping a quantum-enabled future for the benefit of all. This effort is a critical step in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative quantum solutions that address some of the world’s most urgent challenges.

Effectively articulating and implementing Quantum for Good requires more than cutting-edge science. It demands a global commitment from stakeholders across academia, industry and society. By working together, we aim to create Purpose-Driven Innovation, Empowering Solutions, a Collaborative Spirit and ultimately, a Future-Proven Society.
