Quantum Flytrap
A puzzle and sandbox combined in a Quantum optics game.
In this engaging quantum optics puzzle game, players explore key quantum concepts like observation and entanglement, combined with optical elements such as beamsplitters, interference, and polarization. Designed to be easy to start but as each level builds on the last it adds depth and complexity quickly. Easy to pick up, yet hard to master, it keeps players curious and engaged throughout.
Ideally for players age 12 or up as this game requires some good problem solving.
Why it works as a conversation starter:
As levels become more difficult, players need to focus on the answer. As these quite hard it is easy to ask for help—naturally sparking discussions about the underlying quantum concepts.
Formats include:
- Playing solo on 1 laptop with internet for the levels
- Sandbox mode to experiment with concepts like BB84 encryption, quantum teleportation, and “spooky action at a distance”
