Our water system is complex and dynamic – from the way we relate to open water systems, such as rivers, oceans, and lakes, to the methods we use to capture, process, and redistribute the water. Increasing pressure on water resources and extremer weather patterns require innovative solutions that can optimise water capture and recycling, improve water treatment, and enhance distribution efficiency. Quantum technologies could be valuable in addressing these challenges. With enhanced computational power and new sensing capabilities, quantum technologies have the potential to make water management systems more efficient, resilient, and sustainable.
